Abstract:Language conveys human culture. Listening and speaking are very important in communication. Listening comprehension plays a vital role in language learning. Researchers have found that listening anxiety is the principal factor which affects students listening in college listening class.

The paper aims at study on the performance and emotion that reveal in students whose major are non-English and finds that first language and social environment are the latent reasons, while the psychological condition and cultural atmosphere are the basic reasons that cause listening anxiety. Furthermore, students’ inappropriate study method is the internal reason that causes listening anxiety. The paper tries to find out the solutions from teachers’ teaching, students’ cooperation and interests, reformation of education system so that we can reduce the anxiety and improve listening ability.

中文摘要:语言,是人类文化的传载,而人与人的交谈当中,听与说必不可少。听力理解在英语学习中占着极为重要的地位。研究人员表示,在大学英语听力课堂里,心理焦虑正是影响听力的首要因素,亦是学生产生听力恐惧及困难的“拦路虎”。

因此,本文重点研究非英语专业大学生在听力课堂中的表现及焦虑情绪,发现母语与社会环境是造成听力焦虑的潜在原因,而心理状况与文化氛围是基本原因,教育体制与教学氛围是主要原因,学生自身学习的不恰当方法是内在原因,而这些原因直接影响着学生学习英语的动机、自信心等等。针对些问题,本文尝试在老师的教学方面,学生的合作与兴趣方面,改革教育体制方面,提出解决的办法,从而使学生听力焦虑得到缓解,最终提高听力水平。
